The mission of the Italian Heritage Library is to empower the Italian and Italian American community with lifelong learning to identify, find, evaluate, use, communicate, and enjoy historical Italian books in promotion of excellence in scholarship, knowledge, and understanding.
Donated by the members of the Italian Community over the past 50 years, the Italian Heritage library holds over 2000 novels, textbooks, biblical texts, books, and musical records with genres including Travel, Social Science, Religion, Interior Design, Poetry, Drama, and Health/Cooking. In the library, you will also be able to find a rich history of Italian and Italian Americans, including immigration records, historical newspapers of the Italian Community in San Francisco, and posters and advertisements within North Beach dating back to 1878.
